Child and baby-oriented web sites are featuring felt storage boxes - but these boxes could be used almost anywhere. Just today I read about the Pia Wallén felt boxes from Sweden - available on the internet from a variety of stores. [via ohdeedoh]

Some of the major decor stores are carrying felt baskets now. This orange one comes from Design Within Reach; a larger one is available in gray. Update on Oct. 27, 2009, Dec. 25, 2010 and May 9, 2011: Design Within Reach doesn't have this basket any more, but it now has this one. Also, thanks to Remodelisa, I've since discovered that these baskets came from Parkhaus, which I mention elsewhere in this post. @WorkDesign carries many of the Parkhaus felt baskets, including the small square and the medium high. And you can get the tall one - in your choice of 23 colors - from Nubie in the UK.
And these felt baskets with the woven look come from Room & Board. Update on May 9, 2011: These are no longer available from Room & Board. But they sure look like the baskets from Felt Designs by Heidi, sold at The Felt Store.
Parkhaus Berlin makes some stunning felt boxes in vibrant colors - but their on-line store is not yet up. (It's been coming soon for a while now.) But if you live in or near Berlin ... [via Apartment Therapy New York] Update on Dec. 25, 2010: The Parkhaus Berlin web site no longer mentions an online store. But as noted above, you can find many of the company's felt basket at @WorkDesign, including this one. And you can find them with many more color choices at Nubie, in the UK.
Also from Germany (and shipping worldwide) is this simple felt box from beautifulthinks. It sounds like custom sizes are available.
For a different look, there's these handcrafted felt baskets from Nepal. Update on Oct. 27, 2009: Sadly, these baskets don't seem to be available any more.
Then there's always Etsy for handmade items from around the world. These felt boxes from whiterabbit21 in Vancouver, Canada are made from recycled wool sweaters.
And this felt box comes from Svenja and Anika of 0049 Design in Sydney, Australia.
