A Bunch of Bread Boxes

3 bread boxes with colorful side panels

Someone I know may be in the market for a bread box, so I've been inspired to take another look around at what's become available.

One thing I'm seeing is that companies whose bread boxes I've admired in the past have come out with new, interesting options. For example, the colorful bread boxes above come from Wesco.

stainless steel bread bin

Polder has some bread bins with a similar look.

Typhoon has some fun new options, too. Update on Nov. 21, 2019: Typhoon no longer sells this bread bin.

steel bread bin, red

And RedCandy made me aware that Joseph Joseph now has a steel bread bin. Update on Nov. 21, 2019: Joseph Joseph no longer makes this bread bin.

I haven't mentioned Brabantia before, but since the company makes some of the larger-capacity bread bins, I wanted to be sure to give it a mention. (One of many vendors: Just-Brabantia.co.uk, which is where the photo came from)

large bread box

This large - and pricey - bread box is made by WMF, and is sold by Bloomingdales.

Don't like stainless steel? Here's a different approach to the bread bin.

porcelain bread bin with wood lid

The wood for the lid of this porcelain bread bin can serve as a chopping board.

And if you really want eye-popping color, these may be the bread bins for you.

Finally, H is for Home "specialises in the unusual, the quirky, one off, handmade and vintage" - so the bread bin I'm showing above may not be available in the future. However, there are six different bins available today - and who knows what interesting products might show up in the future.

Why yes you do know someone looking for a bread box...I wish the Wesco came in a blue..not sure the orange or red would quite work. Plus which I'm thinking I need something big. I love all these links though. I'm sure I'll find something!

Chantal, here's a Polder bread box in blue.

Jeri,

Love the color and your selection.

I wonder how the bread boxes can be used, other than storing bread. Now that would be interesting.

This takes me back to my childhood when my mother and grandmother each kept a breadbox on their kitchen counters. We had a yellow enamel one with a shape sort of like the Wesco, I think. They're very useful, but my current kitchen doesn't have enough spare counter space to hold one!

Cynthia, my mom had a bread box, too - but I don't.

John, I can imagine all sorts of things (other than bread) to store in a bread box - can't you? Craft supplies and office supplies were my first two thoughts.

Hi there! The stacks of super colorful bread boxes - who is the manufacturer? The link works, but it's "not available" and lists no manufacturer.

Thanks!

Lumlet, the vendor never identified the manufacturer, and searching around didn't turn up anything, either. All I know is that they're Danish.
