Updates: French Tins, Wooden Boxes, Card Cubby
1. French storage tins: Veronique just noted in the comments that her company, Saveur du Jour, carries these wonderful tins in the U.S.; the companies I listed before were all on the other side of the Atlantic.
2. Wooden Storage Boxes: Most of the ones I listed originally are no longer in stock, but this Do not lose box is available from another company.
3. Card Cubby: The owner of the Card Cubby noted in the comments that she is offering a 10% discount using the code CC208 at checkout and free shipping starting Monday! (That would be April 21, 2008.)
Other readers have sent me e-mail noting they use business card holders for the same purpose. Dannette Lewis said she uses a black leather business card holder with a zipper to hold all of her credit and gift cards, driver's license, etc. Another reader raved about the card wheel that she just bought at Target; see the picture above. She notes that the cards can be scanned right from the sleeves - there's no need to remove them.
A big thanks to my readers for their comments!

For a while I was collecting gift cards because I found some of them to be done in such a creative fashion. I started just taking them from the many displays in any given stores. Then much to my surprise, I discovered I was breaking the law because they are considered legal tender... or so says the Target checkout personnel that prevented by from collecting so many that at some point I would have needed dozens of these organization tools!
Jeri,
You are insane, can you just move into my house? :)

Jon, I never heard of anyone collecting gift cards (except to use them), but I know people collect phone cards.
John, don't you think two organizers in the same household would drive each other crazy?
Jeri, you are wreaking havoc with my self-control! I'm a sucker for storage tins and would love to have everything Saveur du Jour offers. Maybe just the little pencil box . . . .
Cynthia, I'm having the same issue myself. And Veronique seems to be such a sweet person, from our e-mail exchange; I do so like doing business with nice people!
Maybe just the frou frou box ...
