Reader Question: Storing the Art, Part 2 - Vertical Files

vertical file for blueprints

Flat files aren't the only way to store art. Another option is the vertical file. These products are often used for blueprints, but some vendors are promoting them for art work, too.

Our old friend Safco, the company that makes a number of flat files, also makes vertical files; that's a Safco file shown above. Mayline has some, too. Other sources are Easifile USA, Jalema Information Management (here and here - and here for the international site), and the Big Blueprint Hanger (and related products).

And Ulrich shows you some pictures of an office cubicle with flat files vs. vertical files to make the case for the vertical file option.

  1. Vertical files are a great solution for most of us who don't have gigantic studio spaces. And some have wheels! Yea!

Thanks again, Jeri, for your excellent research!
