Jewelry on Display: 5 Options
Want to keep your jewelry organized - and also out on display, so you remember what you have? Here are some options I've seen recently. 1. Over on Etsy, you can see lovely jewelry frames from Gypsy Lane. The seller says that the gold screen can hold approximately 50-60 pairs of earrings while the wooden pegs can hold up to 24-30 necklaces. Update on Oct. 18, 2011: Gypsy Lane doesn't seem to sell these any more.
2. The EARAMID stores earrings, of course. It comes in four different colors. Update on Oct. 18, 2011: I'm no longer finding this product on the web.
3. I have fond memories of my travels in India, and one things I remember are all the bangles that the women wore. So I was delighted to find this bangle rack.
4. The wrought iron jewelry displays from Subastral Inc are meant for stores - but they look nice enough to have in the home. There are necklace, bracelet, and earring displays; they are artisan made in the USA.
5. This aluminum jewelry tree is available from Luminaire. [via Behind the Curtains] Updated on Jan. 28, 2021 to note where it's still being sold.

Hi Jeri,
ReplyDeleteI actually made a framed earring holder for myself several years ago using a picture frame I had stashed in a drawer and some inexpensive brass mesh I picked up at the hardware store. It's a simple, creative, earth-friendly (using recycled frames) solution to displaying my non-post earrings.
Also, I like using expandable mug racks, which I can often find second hand for about a buck, to hang my necklaces. Again, a good way to re-use/re-purpose and be earth-friendly.
And that bangle rack... looks like it might work well for ribbon display, too. I remember some crafters were looking for a way to store/organize their many rolls of ribbon on one of the chats.
As always, thanks for sharing your discoveries!

Hi Claire,
ReplyDeleteI'm not one of those who is the slightest bit handy - so making an earring holder (although it sounds simple) is something I'd never do. But I know someone who made an earring holder with an embroidery hoop and some mesh.
And I had the same thought about that bangle rack!
Ooh, I like the idea of using an embroidery hoop and mesh! That's even easier than using an old picture frame because you don't have to worry about a backing on it -- just snap the mesh into the hoop. Another idea: use lace and an embroidery hoop. It would be pretty and functional -- and easy!
